Are you a true Christian? Jesus tells of a time when many would call themselves Christ-like; however, He says they are not! Furthermore, do not believe them! Such strong words from the Man who died for you and me. When it’s all said and done, we want the Lord to open Heaven for us to cross over. If this is the case, we must take heed and not fall into the category of a pretend Christian.

Do you have respect of persons…in other words, do we treat some people one way and others another way? Those of us who desire to spend our days with the Lord cannot live this way! By nature, we love our family and those who agree with us or have much in common with us. But as we continue to get deeper in the Word, God is calling His people to go a step further—to love those who are the exact opposite of us! Jesus taught on many things; one of the most crucial is mercy! Glory be to God that He has had mercy upon us. But what did He give it for? He desires us to go and share the same with others. Yes, to a rapist, yes to a murderer, yes to those who spread lies and hate, yes to all those who we feel do not deserve it. Why? Because in the eyes of God, neither do we, but He will be the judge and set everyone’s record straight.

Throughout time, God has chosen to separate His people. He does this according to His purpose and His will through the things He commands us to do. Now, the Scripture tells us His commandments are not grievous. He does not ask us to do things we are not able to do, as He will equip us and give us the power and strength to do them! He will do all of the heavy lifting but still requires us to do our part. The truth is, God does a separation at the water. Will you be a part of it?

Have you been desperate before? If so, you know it is NOT a good feeling! Feeling tense, anxious, scared, or even all of the above is never pleasant! Sadly, this emotion often arises from different circumstances, causing us to act without rational thinking. Suppose we were to channel this "by any means necessary" feeling, we would be able to follow God wholeheartedly!

What are you expecting from God? We often think from a place of low expectancy from God, but this should be the exact opposite. With all that the Lord has shown He will do for us, why not expect more? Why not believe in Him for the impossible? Why doubt Him? It’s time for the people of God to increase our expectation!
